Sears always does things piecemeal, as they aren't capable of handling massive volumes of cuts at one time. But what used to be an annual tradition has now become quarterly or even monthly. HR, like every other department is a shambles. That's why people aren't getting their paperwork on time, or even at all.From here on out, the cuts will be massive and drastic.
@2qhc OP says he heard it from an HR so that is his is evidence of proof course time will tell if this is legit or its false. This site has been amazing (as you are one of them) when it comes to getting intel about layoffs and whats going on with Sears. I am grateful and this site has amazed me with early news about whats going on with this dying company.
I have provided early warnings for previous layoffs on this board. I have contacts that confirm with me when they are imminent. Unless the OP can provide specifics this seems like trolling / a misleading / false post, the excitement within the post itself is a give away. More layoffs will be coming but 2 weeks after the last one just makes leaders look incompetent. End of July to coincide with Q2 end and making it past the 2 year bankruptcy ruling makes more sense but I guess we will find out next week if you are right
No company is foolish enough to buy Kmart's pharmacy with the intent on continuing operation since everyone but some Sears employees know the stores will soon be gone. And why would anyone buy even the customer lists? All the pharmacies in my town put "Welcome KMart Customers" on their electronic signs the week they closed the pharmacy and it didn't cost them a dime.
I'm sure gonna believe some asinine rumor started at 5pm on a Friday

And no he doesn't - the real estate they sit on is MORE valuable.... so sell the customer lists and schitt can the rest

Also - just the customer lists owned by the Pharmacy have an incredible monetary value. Add to that purchase history (chronic disease patients) you have a gold mine there.

In my mind this is possible but HIGHLY UNLIKELY - yet, if they can get a good price for it it would not be surprising

If true then whoever is still with the company need to look elsewhere. They are in survival mode right now.
