I just read the reply about the Iris pro graphics not improving since 2014 ... which got me thinking about pivotal moments over my past 20 years with Intel ... and 2014 was a weird year for DCG (that was when we decided to prioritize "all things cloud" (e.g. Google, FB, AWS, Azure) over all OEMs (IBM, HP, Dell) ... which not only pissed off our existing base of customers, but - unlike DB's dreams of 14% CAGR into the indefinite future - didn't really make anything easier, more efficient or more profitable by focusing on the CSPs IMO.
The other obvious inflection point was when PSO turned down the iPhone business because some TMG schmuck said it couldn't be built at the price apple wanted.
Anyone else have thoughts on when or where it started to go wrong?
