Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

The Sterling project - a Billion dollars wasted

I wonder how much of this has been caused by canceling the Sterling project after they sunk nearly one billion (yes that's billion with a "B") in to it and have nothing to show for their efforts.

Sterling was/is the windows based software that was to replace the present Genesis system. FOr the amount of money that was wasted on it Lowe's could of had a system similar to what home depot has.

How about JDA rollout failure, leading to tons of rework.

No one gets it.

Niblock is chasing his tail or Ronnies or probably each others.

What a cluster.

Now growing India's office 2500 new jobs posted....and growing....way to go niblock....go USA

How about americans???

Oh nevermind, we are just a number and too old or too expensive....we all cant be 23 years old wearing skimp skirts and shear shirts and spiked heels, or fit into the Afirmative action quota at Corporate.

A few facts running lowes to the grave.

Sterling was the name of the new software system to replace the current Genesis system. It was a Windows based (modern) system to replace the 1960's vintage character based system.

They could have saved a fortune by just working with Oracle, Salesforce, IBM, Amazon... Walmart, JC penney uses oracle software, even amazon uses oracle software. But instead of using software from a company that does it for a living. They decide to create their own. This company has stores that can't take care of a Zamboni, yet they want to put lowesbot in the aisles. They think some robotic back brace will be the wave of the future when the competition is investing in robots to assist the workers. Sad to see how fast they are crashing.

Under Nibs, Lowes has hit bottom and is starting to dig. Time for him to step down.

Lowe's can't even train a cashier well. If you can't do the basic the rest is meaningless.

Let's not forget the HoloRoom! A 10 million dollar tent from inside seasonal with star trek looking bar codes on the inside. Wave your smart phone or iPad around and see in virtual reality what your new kitchen or bath remodel is going to look like. Trialed at three Toronto Canada stores.

Google "Lowes HoloRoom," then google "google cardboard," finally google "Lowe's Innovation Lab."

A lot of money being spent with little or no oversight to develop futuristic tech that really doesn't work as well as sales associates in the aisles helping customers.

More and more Niblock and friends are looking like Nero dancing while Rome burns.
