Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Management Lesson

I was Horribly Mistreated by a director who had absolutely no working experience in her position. Forced to work 16+ hour days and subjected to discrimination, defamation, blatant falsehoods and derogatory comments when ever this director felt the need to cover her behind. It was a true blessing in disguise and I believe that God will not allow those with ill intent to prosper at the cost of hard working breadwinner and their families.

HR is in Guatemala, they do little other than read a screen to you when calling in like a first level help desk in India. They are ok for addressing policy questions and basic information, absolutely worthless for resolving issues. There is a core group remaining here in the States from the old HR days but unless there's an obvious violation that's blatant there isn't much that will happen.

Same happened here with an arrogant SOB that treated me like an idiot instead of a team member. He was hostile and made the work enviroment very unpleasant to say the least. I talked to some other managers about going to HR, but they said our HR department is non-existent and turning someone in could backfire on the person doing the teporting. The only victory is that I am still working for the time being and he was laid off last week. What goes around comes around harder.

I'm terribly sorry for your experience, that must have been very frustrating to say the least. Did you report the situation to HR? Certainly if this was happening to you, it probably happened to others and it's a real shame when an organization deals with abuse. There's enough difficulty in the company to begin with, this is unnecessary.
