Oracle's loss is an apt metaphor for oracle's business - just plain not competitive. N.b. Kiwis won 7 - 1, no contest and that is exactly what it looks like in the cloud business - oracle is losing hands down. Time to replace the senior team running Oracle!

Mystery of the loss solved: as in the business where oracle is shifting jobs from the US to India (see other threads), unbeknownst to most oracle outsourced the sailing to inexperienced but much cheaper Indians, and now we know the outcome and in the bigger picture what is happening at oracle in general. Note: nothing wrong with Indians as such, but oracle is replacing very experience us employees with very inexperienced Indians, that just doesn't work.

They brag about using Oracle's Advanced Analytics / Data mining and sensors to help the race. What a joke. It looks like it didn't help this time.
