There's is a lot of anxiousness, fear, bad vibes, vile energy and company bashing on this forum right now, so to move in another direction here it goes my fellow Lowes community: could you share with us what got you working in this firm and what keeps you going, and still working here? For me, it was and still is the money, and i still like what i do, but this uncertainty drives me crazy.

What keeps me going is knowing that the big steamy pile of sh-- I left on the toilet seat at Lowe's (I'm serious) will have to be cleaned by an ASM or Head Cashier because our FSA called out!!
Screw the customers...bunch of whiny, spoiled "I want everything my way" butt heads.

Long-term goals. I was always taught not to get caught up in the day to day grind. For me. Lowe's isn't the future. It's never been a career goal for me. I work here to help pay for school. If I'm laid off prior to that, great. I can collect unemployment for a year and double up on classes. If not, also great. I can use the experience of navigating change to my advantage. There's learning opportunities everywhere in bad situations. I try to focus on that and keep the low-morale drama out of my way.
It is no bad joke my friend. Starting with the pilot in Chicagoland and so forth it is spreading like wildfire. Here in a part of VA ours started back in January. Even the RTM Clerk got the heave-ho and that got thrown onto receiving. Search while you can and before you are stuck even more than you might be now.
Our store is planning a sick out on July 4th. We have most everyone on board except for the management pets. We guess that they will be the ones running the store with the managers.
I saw the future of Lowe's today in my toilet. Employees moral is at an all time low.
They should have a 2-3 day sick out. Teach these greedy upper management who is really
in charge. We had a store manager who actually made fun of people in wheelchairs and
people who are challenged. Very sick and sadly very true.
All I can say is f--- lowes and especially market 1227. I was a psa manager and glad I made the right choice of quiting after 10 years with the company. Get ready for more changes and they don't give a damn about Y'all. Sorry guys but I have heard pretty much all this from a store manager that recently got fired too. Hr and lp going to market position, specialist going away and csa4 will have the core 8 keys and able to do overrides and asms will be cut down again. Service manager do a asm job without the pay (should have seen that coming).
It's always easier to look for a job while you still have one. Go do it. This company cares nothing about you and your family. There are plenty out there that still do. Can you drive a forklift? Many companies pay fairly well to start with that skill under your belt. They've taken away DM bonuses, not to mention the whole DM level. They've taken away cost plus 10 for employee special orders. They've taken away Christmas bonuses. Do you know why they have people work shifts all over the map? To stop employees from finding other part time work. How selfish can they be? VERY apparently. Home Depot actually helps you with consistent hours so you CAN find more part time work. Get out, get out now. This ship is sinking faster than the Titanic.
I have been with Lowes for almost 14 yrs. It took me over 11 yrs to finally become a Sales Specialists. What keeps me going is the love for my job, my customers, and the ability to change a upset customer to a happy one. Also, I have been here so long I am not going to be able to go out and find a job making anywhere close to what I make a hr without a college education. I can't go back to school because I would have to step down to part time and I have 3 children that depend on me. I hope this is just a really bad joke and it is not really going to happen.
