Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

SS to be pip'd out the door, unless your coach covers your bottom .. and man, they play favorites!

It does appear that mgmt is going to PIP ppl out..Checking every clock punch, one colleague was in our shift start 5 mins before hand , chatted with mgmt, grabbed coffee but forgot to clock in until mid shift start. He was docked an hour even tho mgmt SAW HIM and were SPEAKING WITH HIM.

Then we had a rep draw a line as the customer's signature . This was discovered when the customer came in to return ima jetpack she didn't knew she had. She stated she had no receipt, never signed anything and was never told she was in a contract. SM was mortified when he pulled the receipt to show her where she signed and then saw that she was correct abt the signature. Retd the device, waived restock fee and apologized. What happened to the rep? Nothing. Nada. Zip. Squat.

How in the hell is that not a fireable offense? (customer requested cameras be pulled.)

What did his coach do? Sent a mass email to the store that guests must sign, no exceptions. ( duh?)

Today the same rep skipped down to the 8th person in queue because he heard it was a new line. When our team complains, mgmt does nothing.

We have ppl who sit outside all day and never pull.. When we ask mgmt to get them in.." it's their commission check". It's also our wait time and NPS.

Now that the super store we are in has no ops/rss. Mgmt has passed stocking the floor of devices and cases to the solutions reps, who also must greet and yet still make quota , run the social media acct, come up with contests, all while our transactions are being timed. Did you add tmp? Download tech coach app? Mention the hum? Transfer their content? Wipe their nose for them? Walk them to the door?

Shift start the other morning was about how terrible our performance was yesterday as the biggest store in our district .

So we were required to have a PT by 4pm or be on a call with our DM at 430, REGARDLESS if you already have multiple PT for the start of the month.

Demeaning micromanagement, no positive energy, no understanding that we just lost 20 employees. TWENTY! In one location! ( This does not count the 8 ppl who left of their own accord due to broken promises with Lead or smb positions or tired of the bull. )

We are overwhelmed , trying to adjust to a new normal and spread way too thin. Every single employee has stated how awful our store is now. The leaders can't even figure out how to lead.. " Yesterday was rough, what can we try differently?" THAT would have worked. Not our leaders. They s---ed all the air out of the room as well as any energy any of us had.

Darren Webster says don't all stand up front, it's overwhelming when a guest walks in. Our mgmt wants us up by the door if we are slow. ( hello left hand.. any clue what the right hand is doing? And sure enough a guest came in and said we all looked like piranhas waiting to pounce on him. )

We even had a solutions mgr sleeping with an exp rep that was common knowledge. HR didn't do Sh-- till after the 1st round of layoffs ( so the mistress was gone ) and the ppl who knew directly from the mistress had just left the company. Why? The solutions mgr was aware they knew abt the relationship and he made their lives a living hell . Investigation went nowhere since none of the employees that were there when mgr/ exp rep locked themselves in the mgrs office, cranked music and would not open the door ( he was the only MOD) and our HR rep is useless. U. S. E. L. E. S. S.

This company is not what I thought it was. I loved my job when i was hired. The credo is crap. Mgmt at the store does NOTHING to address the many issues going on. They have their favorites and it shows.

Anyone on the outs with their mgmt team in retail.. don't be late, dot your I's and cross your T's, cover your a--, or who knows, maybe start kissing someone's. They know who they have their scopes on. They also know who they let get away with being shady as fuc&.. problem with that is, the staff knows, too and compliance hotline is about to be bombarded since nothing is ever handled professionally.

Time to let go of the higher ups who got us into this mess.. and maybe take the employees' word when 30 reps come to you with the same issue.

PT is pull through, stuff that usually doesn't come from walk ins. Jet packs, home phone, hum, watches, tabs... aka non phone adds.

I'd be careful with names here, or using any personal identifiable info at all. Check the site rules, that's not allowed here. While ago I named a colleague here, not even in bad context, and admins nuked all my posts and blocked my IP. Sill struggling with proxies, supper slow.

I truly believe the OP was a warning to SS to be alert and aware regarding pip and that mgmt have their favorites and know who they are "coaching" and documenting as a way to get then out?? HOW did we lose sight of that?

Examples were given and are absolutely objectionable.

That Canton store has always been a goldmine, but it seems the issues listed in the OP get ignored or never addressed, nor properly dealt with, it must make for a very frustrating environment to be in when all any rep wants is to make money.. It's the matter of the managers of ALL STORES not playing favorites with the reps ( and canton is the worse at this) Mgmt needs to address the ridiculous issues described among , but if they continually brush staff issues as they have for many years, they will lose some more excellent employees.

This went waaay off the rails from what i believe the OP was saying, simply to CYA.

Y'all just shredded yourselves , but sure sounds like that fish needed fileting asap.

If you're not here to respond abt the PIP , the original Post, it would serve us all a world of good if you just mosey on through.

The name dropping is stupid. There's no proof of anything happening. This is all chatter. Just get on with your days and go back to selling. If it's that bad then find a new company to work for.

It was a mistake to name people.

However, as I see it there is no legal way Verizon can truly prove exactly who wrote something if you really think about it. IP address does not prove authorship. What if you forgot to secure your network? Anyone could get online then and make a post.

VZ should not be using technology to spy on employees using the internet in their free time on a board promoted as anonymous. If you truly attempted to report situation to HR and were ignored, perhaps you felt you had no other options.

I know I had a situation where I and others in my workplace received continual harassment from our superiors. I had to report more than one manager to human resources, and the company took no apparent action against them. In one case a high level manager behaved inappropriately and against the code of conduct. If someone in my position had behaved in this way they would have been fired. It has been very depressing to see that I am not considered important at Verizon after all the years I worked here, that people can treat me disrespectfully with impunity, and that for all appearances no action will be taken against them. It's the kind of thing that can make you feel crazy from stress. It can make you want to lash out and in the heat of the moment. it could cause you to post something you might regret. Unfortunately, there is no way you can take a post down on this site if you change your mind.

Everybody makes mistakes, especially under the stress that is sometimes applied in this company. I know I have to count to 10 sometimes before I make a post. Good Luck and next time just don't use names.

I'll just say I worked in Canton for 8+ years, and this is all true.. I've heard so much in the inventory room, from friends talking, to people extremely close to people that say "oh my God don't say anything", to actually seeing screen shots. At this point all the employees that knew what was going on are all gone so there's nothing that anyone can do. HR will do nothing, always have always will do nothing, but hey don't be 5 minutes late and get an hour docked though... To the long story that was posted, youre spot on. There is so much that was talked about. People asking for nudes, coming in high and drunk, the steroid talk (even though those meat heads are gone), it all happened. I heard so much talk and back to talk about people. Especially the girls there. They would be best friends and then come in the inventory room and talk bad about their friends. It's very much a high school there and I really think it needs a big shake up from the reps to the management to get the store really focused on what needs done.

I'm sure people wouldn't hand pick people and name drop. Sounds like this has gone on for a very long time and the bubble is just bursting. If I were y'all I'd start a union.

I hate Kool-aide as much as the next guy, and I hate to stick up for bullying VZ mgmnt, but there is nothing "ballsy" about naming people on the internet where they can't defend themselves while you remain anonymous. Everyone deserves a fair trial.

Big difference between a predator and a cheater. Reporting a rape or harassment is one thing, but what business of yours is it if someone cheated on their spouse? I think you are better off focusing on the unfair working conditions instead of who slept with who. S-xual harassment is another matter of course.

I understand you feel mistreated and you are angry. I know how VZ treats people. But this is not the right way to handle it. If you want to stand up for yourselves and join the Union to get better working conditions now that is something worthy of respect. Stand up for yourselves and have some honor even if your leaders do not.

Hardly whining. Numbers are excellent, thank you for your concern.

This is about some co-workers being singled out while others are getting passes on the same behaviors. Its about mgmt not doing their new responsibilities, but delegating to commissioned enployees.

Trust me, this sh-- storm of a store is well known .not just for the volume, but the constant drama .. and if you think it's the employees, you should see the lack of management.

Seems like the good old VZW would benefit from your departure since you can turn a blind eye to the b---s---. Or are you sleeping with someone, too?

Sounds like a bunch of whining from someone who can't get it done and these are their excuses. Maybe the good ol VZW is better off without you.

This has Canton, OH written all over it. We all know which manager was sleeping with which employee. What's worse is the management staff all knew but kept it hush to protect their "boy". Such a garbage store now. They lost so many good employees that were there for a long time. Not going to lie, paying someone to stand in a "zone", transfer content, walk around carrying a speaker, or specifically selling a hum is a joke.. hopefully that stores get a big shake up and Darren Webster takes notice since the HR is worthless.

Sounds like the same old retail shenanigans I remember.

Bunch of adult twelve year olds.

OP do yourself a favor and go get an adult job. Leave Verizon and their sinking retail ship.

PS you lost 20 heads must be a destination store. Those stores are the biggest waste.

You east coast union retail? I only ask because our district was sent to cover those stores during the strike..brooklyn, etc. . Believe me when I say the Great Lakes East district is very frustrated trying to get more on-board for a union.. and we were very envious of the retail locations that were part of one.

I'm so sorry they closed your location... I wish I could say I'm surprised.

I was a union retail worker that was on strike and won the first ever verizon wireless retail contract cause I was sick of the complaining I decide to go and do something about. But my location was closed because verizon wireless did not like the union. I stood up to corp greed and did something about. If the rest of wireless does not wake up good people are going to be out job because they keep taking it instead of fighting back. Just look at all the layoffs the last few years if you do not fight know do not complain latter.

Incidentally, when the land line side was striking, they recruited our non union experience reps and sent them across picket lines with minimal training to be harassed and spit upon by union workers ( not placing blame on union workers at ALL . A scab is a scab, but ahhh, wireless ppl, VZW will be forever in your debt and gushing with gratitude .. )

Till they laid them allllll off.

@NaT6RZR-vzw

We've been pulled off the sales floor and straight to the manager's officer for merely mentioning the " U" word. We were also required to sit through a Koolaid video about a yr ago showing how AWFUL unions are for employees. * eye roll*
