Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

More work , more responsibility, same pay

Seems most employees I casually talk to carry the same complaints right now. So many of us weathered the storm, took on an increased work load and clinged to hope that the effort would be recognized with a increase in wages once it picked up again. And yet here we are, angry & frustrated, with still no light at the end of the tunnel. The decline seems like it's here to stay. It's time to GTFO of here. I'm sending out resumes everywhere this week. Enough of this.

Seems like they have plans to close WFT ALS Odessa. Plans are in works for All units to be diverted from China and Canada to either North Dakota or Colorado. BEEN TOUGH FOR LAST 2 YEARS LAY OFFS, EMPLOYEES THAT STAY WORK FURLOUGHS AND DOUBLED UP ON WORK WITH NO RAISES IN 3 YEARS. MORE LAYOFFS AGAIN EMPLOYEES THAT GET TO STAY ARE THE LAZY ONES THAT COME IN LATE EVERY DAY AND TAKE 2 HOUR LUNCHES. Have people sitting in there ofc on FB all day. Yard is a lawsuit waiting to happen for contracted trucks delivering inventory. Crater and Pot holes everywhere. While all corporate suits sit pretty getting all bonuses making decisions they really have no idea they driving company into ground. All good corporates are long gone that actually knew how to run a company properly.

Myself as well as a couple other coworkers have been looking to leave here. Things were changed last year and we still can't get what we need to do our jobs. They have messed up the process and made it hard to work. I just pace myself to get through another payday and let the experts in the office explain it to his boss.

Yep, many here are in that same boat. Moral is pretty poor right now in this location. It's not a company meant for long term employment for hourly and non management. Same pay can be found elsewhere. Just have something lined up. Good luck to the original poster. It's rough out there

Contractors are treated more like humans. Full time employees are cogs.

Contractors are cheaper for the company. No benefits and just a phone call away when your services are no longer needed.

They are laying off then hiring contractors to do the work.

It's up to you. I worked my tail off for over a decade and gained little but resume bullets. If you are looking to be recognized WFT is NOT the place. Good luck.

Its better to have a job when the industry is in the tank than no job at all. Where I used to work for Weatherford Ampscot 550 people lost their jobs.
