Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

LE and oracle becoming irrelevant

Time just published its list of the top 20 most important people in tech. Google has a bunch of people on it. Bezos is on it. Tim Cook is on it. Pichai is on it. Nadella is on it. Ginny is on it

NOBODY FROM ORACLE IS ON IT, which makes sense. Oracle isn't doing anything new, innovative, or interesting. Oracle is dying. RIP

TK should not be given any responsibility to build any more products. He can keep doing acquisitions and destroy them as his day job.

I can count on one hand the number of customers that hate us. On the other hand, a binder couldn't contain the list of all the customers that hate us. Oracle is not well liked. Meetings feel very litigious. We aren't welcome.

Can you name a success organically developed applications product? LJE and Thomas K have had 2 decades and unlimited funds and nothing to show for it but acquisitions. They led a strategy of integrating down the tech stack while the world pivoted to the cloud. If not for the DB support cash flow, they'd be bankrupt. MH has a deaf ear and everything Keith Block said about him acting regal and doing nothing relevant was right. His sales force "transformation" was a cancer that skipped stages 2 and 3 and went right to 4. Catastrophic. HIs inexperienced "class of" hires have >50% turnover. The company I joined in 1997 was dynamic and full of smart, highly motivated people. Customers welcomed us as positive agents of change. Hurd and she-who-shall-not-be named have turned it into an angry version of the mediocre behemoth HP became under Hurd. The end is nigh.

You mean and not " add value" to them ? What wouldn't the three stooges do with themselves then?

You know, if they just bought the companies and LEFT THEM ALONE to continue doing what they've always been doing, everyone would be a lot more successful.

Zero internal innovation, buy innovative cloud companies and destroy them through cost cutting and consolidation into TK'a failed development org. Destruction of money and technology on a massive scale

That is what happens when you purchase IP instead of you know, innovating.

Oracle is a dictatorship. Corruption is rampant, nepotism is everywhere, no real innovation, just gaming the system to stay employed or get ahead. History is not kind to that form of governing.

No one from IBM should be on it. Watson is a joke.
