Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Try Something New - Kind and Courteous

If Oracle would fire quickly and "thoughtful" rather than scheming a few months - you do that person a favor; in fact everyone could get a minimum 3 to 4 months full pay as normal and benefit coverage to allow focusing on new work plus as the checks keep rolling in later you would have a very positive opinion of the place - possibly

However the reality is "your last day of pay and benefits will be today, turn in your badge and laptop, clear your stuff out, and go home. Tomorrow a FedEx packet will arrive at your house with a severance agreement that you will have to sign under duress to even take care of your family. Oh, and you had awesome performance reviews? Who cares...

Actually, Oracle could lose at least 30 percent of the redundant workforce if they would let true men and women with responsibility and authority run their departments. Folks I am very sorry any of you have had to endure being treated this way and I am just one of you who was let go for no good reason. Who would treat people this way? This layoff has been the worst experience of my entire career. Whoever crafted this method on terminations and layoffs is pure evil.

and LE or whoever might still care, it would really be okay to still build a really cool and respectable company again. All the best and much love back at y'all.

After reviewing my resume and with others it seems my Oracle work history destroyed my otherwise beautiful work progression - how do I know? I am still getting calls off my old resume from years ago who lose interest when I send the Oracle "updated" resume - go figure....

Seems like something sneaky like what Eddie Haskell or Ralph the Mouth would do. Well at least people rode a good ride there. There's always jobs out there that pays more.

Micromanaging by spreadsheet is the new norm. Why even have managers when you can hire robots for less that just do as they are told and don't act with any sense of independent thinking and autonomy?

I think we're losing sight of what is important in this post. Best of luck to you - lots of empathy for your situation. The good thing (if there is anything good in a situation like this) is that there is LOTS of opportunity out there right now, and Oracle salaries are so far below market that my bet is you'll be doing better a year from now than you are now.

The terms of these layoffs just tell you how bad the numbers really are.

Oracle treats its own customers like dirt. Why would anyone expect them to treat their employees any different?

Kind /courteous/ Oracle - all in the same sentence? That's not possible.

Kind and courteous, at oracle? Not with the three A-holes in charge. It's like they derive a sadistic pleasure from treating people badly

Just like cattle led to slaughter, LE, SC, MH, don't give a sh-- about oracle employees as long as their own coffers keep filling up with more gold. Talk about a bunch of self serving, greedy swine with no morals and ethics

Totally agree.. taking off benefits the very next day. People getting 30 min to turn in their laptop . This after working years in company . At least keep on payroll benefits for couple of months and then severance
