There are way too many managers now, most are completely useless and do nothing. Why in the World would they hire more and have them trained by no nothing managers that do not know the job themselves? It makes no sense. By the way, all the training is on discipline, go figure, but then again that's all they know, so that's all they teach.

In a company as large as Verizon, there is going to be bad employees, both in management and union. One is no worse than the other.
If there is a 2019 strike, you best have other employment lined up. We are losing customers and union members in droves. 2019 will be here quick and Verizon will be a shell of what it is today.

@NmFrVtM-isv is spot on. They like cutting the union down to size WAAAAAY more than they like customers. They treat it like a sport. Verizon is working with the government to screw you royally and dissolve their commitment. Newsflash--THEY'RE GETTING REALLY REALLY CLOSE. If the union just keeps waiting like they think you will--You're gonna get rammed hard. They rent union leadership like h--kers to string you along.
The absolute backbone of this company were these first level positions where the rubber meets the road. Haha!! That statement is hillarious! We have a first level manager that used to park at the central office all day and drink beer when he was a tech....so they promoted him! Then he got into "nose candy". Got fired twice but his second level daddy got him his job back. He also goes hunting while on company time. We have another first level who got caught flipping houses while on company time. He got fired, went across the river and got rehired in another state. Now he sells real estate on company time. The company doesn't care....and neither do the second levels. All of the good ones are gone and most first and second levels that are left are corrupt,dishonest and inept.

VZ is going to sell off the tech work to Ericsson like they have in the rest of the world. At the end of this contract Ericsson will rehire techs willing to work under new terms. Those unwilling will be replaced. It's coming.

Did you say you need a Verizon healthy ? ! The union is a huge problem why this company is tanking genius . Agreed.....Most of the Technicians here at Verizon have at least 20 on the job and know the job inside and out.....Why in the hell are you hiring managers and teaching nothing but discipline?
