Keeping all the rhetoric on the age bias, nepotism/ nationality and h1b aside, does anybody know which groups / teams are affected most? 1100 is not a small number. Some groups must have lost 100s.

Engineering develops products that require services after the sales. No products no services.
UCS won't get killed. It's just decreasing investment. Why invest in a SAN attached compute platform when the world and their dog are moving to NAS. UCSD means less need for UCSM. Also, UCS is now a run rate biz, driven by hyper flex, and sales of other Cisco software platforms.
So what is the philosophy behind trashing the engineering but keeping the Services despite services is down by 2%.
Because engineering is COST COST COST, and AS the people are the revenue (assuming there's a pipeline). Product sales are somewhat predictable, especially in DCG, legacy enterprise switching, etc. and it must be clearly declining. Most AS is lumpy, only somewhat product attach.
Looks like Cisco is behind culling engineering resources. AS seems to be untouched again. So what is the philosophy behind trashing the engineering but keeping the Services despite services is down by 2%. Also some said SP is down by 30%. No it is not; it's down by 10%.
@jzy - DTG in the US lost a lot but not 'hundreds'. It seems to be the old IOT group taking the biggest hit, not those from BTX.
Outside the US, DTG have to wait until August to learn their fate. They are also ex-IOT.
UCS QA kept puppets, clowns are kept by their managers. UCS product will be shutting down it is time for engineers to leave and find some thing else.
Cisco UCS data Center got massive cut, anybody from dell , HPE, Emc was thinking to join cisco ... think twice ... UCS QA has got massive cut in USA , in India we are yet to receive numbers ... this is sh--ty state when you have to spend weeeknd in panic .

UCS Group is getting killed. Supermicro is two miles down the street along 880. They're hiring.
CSPG hit hard. My entire team let go. I see many comments about US citizens let go to hire H1 guys and younger people.
I am on H1, not yet 40 and my entire team has been wiped out including me.
Not sure but I hope my situation help others refrain from commenting about H1 hire etc. when it happen, it happen to everybody and feeling is same no matter what is the age, race and work status
