Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

PTO

For those already laid off or in this new wave of layoffs: how did the company handle your accrued PTO payout? According to PTO policy if their is a reduction in workforce you will receive your entire accrual, but it then refers you to the layoff policy which states that PTO accruals will be DEDUCTED from your severance pay. Is this how it's being done? I won't get my PTO on top of severance?

I am currently maxed out at 264 hours which is just over 6 weeks. I have only been here 3 years which is 6 weeks severance. So, would I only get PTO and no severance?

I remember! My first coach was easygoing, the opposite of a micromanager. Sadly, that coach was let go in round one. :(

Sorry state of affairs at Humana these days. I was forced into retirement. There is no loyalty or respect of the work force at Humana. Younger people were left and older ones were let go. In some cases employees were replaced by people from India. With the ultimate slap in the face, they were then required to train their replacements. How demeaning and disrespectful can Humana leadership be. Moral is as bad as it has ever been in my tenure there.

They were too worried about their golden parachutes when the Aetna deal fell through. Our Director got rid of the people he did not like or had complained to HR about him. I worked with them since the mid 80's and was treated like I was worthless the whole time I was there.

I am now with their competition and it is not too hard gathering my customers back.

Large and small they are happy to get away.

The question was do you get that On top of severance or is it deducted. PTO policy states if you are let go due to workforce reduction you get to take ALL accrued PTO not just your annual accrual, but then directs you to the policy on layoffs which states PTO is deducted from severance. So I am asking if you get paid both.

i was laid off first round and in our agreements we aren't allowed to discuss the agreement signed. Yours may say the same.
