NWFO means "National Work From Office". It's the Democrats version of NOT working from home ie if you're not around and not diverse you must be evil and unproductive.

This is the real crux of the issue from the story, "Writing and testing code is an intensely private activity that requires concentration and focus. An open plan office is the worst possible place to try to do that type of work."

The IT managers and head of IT are obviously Indian or at least from Asia. Asians value the group and group think as the basis for their work and not the individual as in western cultures.

It just shows you that the Indians are bringing their poor productivity and innovationless ways here! Brace for the future as I attend my useless meetings each day and get less and less done but at least I look like I'm super productive.

They are following the footsteps of other successful companies (i.e. yahoo) 😝

I rember when we took our sc[r]?um training, our fake sc[r]?um coaches were pointing out how yahoo was requiring all employees to work from the office. 3 1/2 years later and after several rounds of layoffs and quarterly losses, yahoo was sold for a fraction of the 40B MSFT had offered. CEO lady lost her job and Verizon got stuck with a company whose valuable data is floating all over the dark web.
