Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Any news about the end-year bonus?

Any chance we'll get anything? I noticed that the regular "Quarterly P&LI bonus update" post on jive, was not updated after Q3. That's probably not a good sign.

2.5b was the profit last qtr. They spend 1b per annum on stock buybacks. If there are funds for gsx and directors offsites in exotic locales, the troops deserve the bonus meat ...

My prediction..they will give 50% of target to the <= g12 after a big show of how the company is cutting its own flesh to reward the troops in tough times.

But i am not buying anything based on my theory until get the notification of deposit lol

Underling year-end bonus is between slim and none (and slim just left the building).

almost no product manager/director/VP type wants to stick around 10 years and take a product from PRD to a successful run rate post-FCS. the avg tenure in the valley seems to be around 2 yrs for these roles now? ride the hyper cycle, leverage contacts to get the next jump, .... interest of the product and worker bee is 2nd last and last on the to-do list.

Being impacted and then start to have time to look at the linkedin and found the executives at cisco (sr. directors, directors, VPs) jump ship at their previous life befor they become our group head(directors/VPs, 39% of the postiions they hold (outside cisco and inside cisco) are less than one year, not knowing any of the interview process at higher ups and howcome they get these jobs and still stay the same as they are.. while workerants who work the same job xx years was let go..

these executives went to competitior and come back and some went from competitor to another competitor after one year...

these are vivid on linkedin..

that tells some story itself..

Middle (Dirs and Sr Dirs) management (g13-14) is getting a 35% bonus on top of a salary that's around $200k. VPs get far more than that.

I'm not crying for them.

Doesn't look good - seems poor old Chuck and the senior execs need their bonuses. It only seems right that we waive our bonus so they can afford to live the high life.

I wont be holding my breath, but then again, some of the Senior management rely on bonus to make up a huge chunk of their take-home-pay (suspect upwards of 30%) so you'd never know. If there is, then it is a blatant indicator that the ELT are just bleeding the company to further their own bank balances.

To the Managers that say your reward is "getting to work for Cisco" then they really need to get their heads out of their a$$es. A company that has laid off about 25k people in the last 5 or 6 years, has a constant fear of layoffs, a toxic work environment riddled with multi multiple layers of politics where only brown-nosers get ahead. Not to mention a pretty stagnant share price with the last 10 years - are we talking about the same company here?
