So please explain why long term and very capable employees were not given the opportunity to be re-purposed into other job openings? After years and years of A+ performance reviews - a layoff for me this past month? Isn't that retarded? I mean even for those who don't care about you - don't they save money by re-purposing?

This is cheap tactic learnt from Indian IT companies to keep corporate image in tact in job market.
A closer look job descriptions I'll reveal that they overloaded and combination of. Incompatible skill set.
It is old trick that tries to justify layoff by labelling old employees as bad and hardly any hiring takes place against these fake posting as officially there is freeze on hiring.
This should be somehow hashtagged - #layoffsandhiring I dont know what works

That is no necessarily true in all departments. In engineering the college hires are starting over $100,000 plus stocks, much more than the old timers.
Because of this

Just some advice - I took Oracle OFF my resume and have had a much higher response rate which makes me think Oracle is a huge detriment. I did work on side for non profits and others so I put Independent Contractor in place of red Oracle - you know there are problems when an interviewer keeps asking what the Oracle CX Suite runs on: Amazon or Azure? The don't even get that there even exists and OPC or Oracle Public Cloud - unbelievable
You mean MH - MoreHorseshit and SC - SlayingCompany?
Exactly. 100% spot on.
I think the job posts are Fake News...
The 2 bonehead CEOs running oracle are in it for the short term and cash, which Is why the sell their stock as soon as they can. Nothing to do with you, everything to do with them. Once you find another job you will see that they unwittingly did you a huge favor and totally screwed oracle
In the (very) short term, they actually save money by laying off older more experienced workers regardless of their performance level because they can hire young, inexperienced people for much less. In the long term it obviously costs much more because when you're young and inexperienced, you tend to make many mistakes that older more experienced workers have already made and learned from. Mistakes which compound each other and after a while you find yourself at a competitive disadvantage.
