Heard that the cloud business is falling way short of their goals this quarter so there will be layoffs by the end of the quarter. Dont know extent of full impact but it will happen, just the scope and scale are being discussed in late night hush-hush sessions.

@rtl Which part did you try to help with? Did you talk to management?
In general you're right that oracle HR is useless. In this case though, it's the 3 stooges and their ultra cheapness / detachment from reality
Oracle HR is stupid. We both understand that newbies are smart and bring fresh air. However, you pay them very high based with 0 bonus and stocks (Oracle's based is better than others) .... then most of the better people left because they can get much better $ (base + bonus + stock) from other companies. Then, guess what, worse people remain and still get the must higher base. What are they doing everyday? No they are not dumb, they keep brushing CC150 and other books and pay less attention on their daily job. That's why they can screw up the project, company and the culture. So stupid. Again, better people left, worse remain....
Not really surprised about the "old staff" comment given the caliber of newbies being hired - heaven knows they have all the answers (just don't know the questions).
Everyday I watch SR's being passed from newbie to newbie without a clue on where to begin addressing issues.
Sure, I could help (and have tried) but all I hear is "I've got this" so I just sit back and watch these support drones catch hell from customers and management alike.
And so it goes........
Hopefully they purge x86 HW Eng Sr Mgmt and resume JDM/ODM for these commodity servers.
Oh, I feel so sorry for SC and MH that they may not get their obscenely large bonuses. NOT!
Oracle needs massive cuts. The old staff can't learn new tricks.
OPC is a joke compares to AWS and Azure. It's just a matter of time.
What orgs?
Now there's a surprise,
You mean oracle is not on track to $10 Bn ? but LE wants it to be how can it possibly fall short ? SC has run out of accounting tricks to make it seem bigger than it is? Oh what a shame!
