They will not reach out to you - definitely attend one of the sessions they offer for useful details. One key thing is to sign up for external access to ADP so you can get payout info (more on the timing below). When you sign up, you get sent a code from ADP to activate the access, do it right away - I didn't and it caused me tin be locked out and required IT help, which was a problem once my ID was not recognized (see below).
Here's what happened to me in the US:
1) during your notice period, you will still get normal paychecks, but the last one will include your unused vacation pay, if any
2) provided you send in the signed acceptance letter, your layoff payout will come in several waves a few weeks - two payouts for Cobra (for some reason, they pay the first month separately from any others). You will get mailed pay stubs for all of these, and it takes about 3 weeks for all of them to arrive.
You will likely need all this info to apply for unemployment benefits, as they ask for details on what you got paid. HR was able to help me directly answer the Unemployment questions, sitting with my on the phone as I plugged in the numbers in various categories they ask about in the application.
After your last day, if you call the Cisco support line (408-526-8888), only HR/ER willbe able to find you by your Cisco ID - in all other systems like IT support, your ID is disabled. So make sure you remember your Cisco ID so you can still get to HR after your last day.
Good luck
