VZW has way too many Managers who just sit on their a-- send emails and watch dashboards. The quotas are unrealistic. They find a way to raise your quota and pay you less year over year. They are clueless as to what Sales people face on the street.

Why do they still push tablets, JP's, hums and HPC... most are outdated techs and tablets are a saturated market....
Sales people are the only ones able to s---er peoplw into getting (mostly) useless tablets and stupid stuff like hums and jetpacks (which are in their phones). Sales people still manage to sell thousands of dollars in overpeiced acc despite how easy is to find the same stuff for a fraction of the price online.
But people buy "complex" tech stuff (computers, dishwashers etc) at stores like Best Buy or Home Depot.
With the exception of Apple stores, most people don't go to a manufacturer-specific store to buy items that are often more complex and more expensive than a phone. If stores from all carriers went away, I would expect the public to adapt fairly quickly. I think the issue is that all carriers believe that while other carriers have stores, it would be at a disadvantage to be the one without.
So, till economics forces the issue, they will be around
RPR - for one I never have a problem ordering online nor do anyone that i know of that has verizon. I recommend they go online or on the app as its faster and hell they will call me for help regardless.
FBJ - Also you would be amazed at how tech dumb vast majority of society is. They can use the phone but once the new one comes out they are completely confused.
Honestly I am still trying to figure out why you need salespeople at all? I mean it cellular service that's been around for awhile....everyone either buys an iPhone or Samsung and there are like 3 plans to choose from?
I can't remember the last time I needed help buying anything wireless or set foot in a store.
