Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

US field office closures?

Just out of interest , has then been any word on office closures within the smaller based offices in the US that have been acquired through various acquisitions over the years? (such as Hyperion, BEA, Siebel, Primavera). Locations such as: Stamford etc

A lot of these locations/buildings are practically empty with only a handful of people turning up. Can't be 'cost effective' to keep them all up and running.

Complete list here: https://www.oracle.com/corporate/contact/field-offices.html

Rumors have been circulating that the Jacksonville, FL office, which Oracle got in the Taleo acquisition is going to close June 2018 (end of the lease). The Jax office is pathetic, the entire down stairs is completely empty except for the reception desk and even she's hardly there, upstairs, where it's dark and depressing there are maybe 75 people that sit in small spread out clusters. A complete waste of money to keep it open.

CEBGU (formerly Primavera) is mostly located in PA in a building where they just made the landlord kick out other tenants to expand their footprint. I doubt they're closing the office as they're now requiring everyone to come in and limiting work from home.

I think they will be closing offices and consolidating, but the question is when. I do not think this is on the top of the agenda - offices are expensive but think in terms of headcount and how much more expensive headcount is...
