Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowes Phase 3 Restructure

I hope it's not going to be as bad as everyone is talking about - I am perplexed with the amount of change the executive management team is introducing, folks in my store are constantly tense and uncertainty about jobs is adversely affecting everyone.

I hope that someone at the Lowes HQ is reading all of this and realizes that people can handle only so much change, and so much workload - we all feel overworked and underpaid anyway, and cutting resources even more is not going to help.

Spelling and grammar wouldn't hurt in some of these posts...have to read and reread to make any sense of them!

No matter what, it is pretty c-appy when Marvin creates his pod cast and generalized departments as idle. Way to create any will or appreciation for thos that actually do still have faith and loyalty in Lowe's. Poor head, poor mouth and another repeat of past diasters in other companies. Sad!

Waste of time and money having Specialist. They don't sh-- but walk around with their hands in their pockets. And taking breaks.

And another thing it's not what you know it's who you know.

I call BS.. I been with this company for over 10 years and I can tell you that you are only as valuable is long as your paycheck is low. If you been working as long as you say you know this is true. So many people in life out grow the pay for the job. I know cause I am one of those. Making over $25 an hour with SPIFF money. Well no matter how hard I worked my cheap a-- manager would not hire me on. That's how it goes. The more you make toe faster you are on chopping block. Guess what the ASm's to be let go soon are also the highest paid. Our highest paid is over 60K and will be gone with next round but she works her butt off..

I understand that they have to cut pay but they need to hire more competent employees before I just say the hell with it and take my business to Home Depot

One: a loader can handle a PSI and PSE lead if trained correctly it's all apart of helping people love where they live don't be a jerk.

Second: There not doing there best to provide us with jobs they are instead doing what is best for them to make a bigger check at the end of the day.

Third: the person who said the should cut fat at the top. I absolutely agree with you that'll let us know they value the work we do for the company and give us a reason to say I love where I work.

My first comment was negative for a reason because it's like saying the guy who cleans the bathroom can only do that and nothing more. My friend I was in every department and every position and I started as a cashier went to loader worked back end and overnights, and I worked my way from that to a "Service Manager" I have been with lowes since late 90's and have seen a lot of changes. But theres one thing that'll never change and that's people with goals and determination and those people will be the people in the future writing worklist for you.

If you do your job theres nothing to worry about.

Maybe the executives trying to provide us with a job should give up their multi-million-dollar bonuses first. When I hear/see Niblock and crew struggling to make ends meet, feed their children, and keep a roof over their heads I'll start to feel like they are trying to provide us with jobs.

Trim the fat at the corporate level; they make enough money as it is.

Sure do feel valued .....when I ask questions I get, "it's just a title change."

I call BS . WHERE are the PSI and PSE leads going to come from if all the specialists are gone? The part time loaders? Perfect.

Try looking for another job if you feel like your over worked. You should be thankful that you even have a job. Lowe's is doing its best to provide us associates with jobs instead of just letting us go.
