I have always had an issue with BB. He worked for Goldman Sachs before. Why in God's name does a person think they should be compensated MILLIONS of dollars for their work in a Humanitarian setting? Flying Humana's company jet back and forth from the East coast to Louisville for... five years now? And denying seniors their meds, denying them equipment, denying them assistance, blaming Medicare, blaming the system. Why is it that everyone wants to be a rockstar these days? The old folks have to pay out of their pockets on limited income while this so-called Leader lives like the Dictator in North Korea. Off with their heads and job reductions to ensure his own bonuses on top of the 12 million a year. That is how you cut costs.

You actually make some good points but your condescending tone is unnecessary (i.e., "really funny to think you're capable of that," your ALL CAPS ranting ..).

So you no longer work for Humana, and you actually some good points to share, but you come on here and lecture condescendingly, dismissing normal frustrations and anxieties, an ex-employee who thinks he or she must enlighten others by shouting that they don't understand that Humana is a business.

Your frustrations are misplaced! No one was put in their place btw, that's really funny to think you're capable of that. I get it. Livelihoods are at stake. Just so you know I was one of those affected, but I get it from a business standpoint. I get the whole thing. HAH positions are not the epi-center of Humana! Layoffs at Humana are a regular thing. Every few years some department is cleaned out. I came into this knowing it is very unstable. Same with Aetna, Cigna, Anthem and any other fortune 500. This year it was HAH. You all were convinced that HAH was the crown jewel of Humana. Yes we were led to believe that but come on, there is no job security in any industry. For everyone to immediately think every letter, email or meeting is about them is ridiculous! Plan for the worst. Look for another job if needed, sock away extra money, or make yourself invaluable in your department. Be pro-active not re-active!

Hey you really put that poster in their place. But Subject line "Opportunity of a Lifetime"....oh but some may lose jobs. No matter what......I do not consider this job at Humana an Opportunity of a Lifetime. Maybe for management ....who are seeking millions in financial gains. But really.....

Below poster with the all ALL CAPS yelling: everyone understands it is a business. This is a layoff site and associates, in the midst of a year during which we have seen many colleagues laid off, are trying to work through questions, doubts and uncertainties. Frustrations will come up on a layoff site, or maybe you understand that when put in civil terms without condescending lecturing. How about this: Oh for heaven's sake y'all, IT'S A LAYOFF SITE!

Does that work better for you? There will be questions, doubts, worries, anxieties, frustrations and emotions expressed here.

Oh for heaven sake y'all! This is a business! HAH is just a fraction of the over all picture.I think many lose sight of that. They are not here to cater to us nor are they trampling on our backs. IT'S. A. BUSINESS! Changes could refer to us since we lost hundreds of employees with the potential of eliminating other positions or changing requirements, but it could also be another segment. It happens in every business! Health care is in a free fall due to the ACA debacle and uncertainties of changes made to it by the current administration. We work with Medicare but you can be certain it affects us as rising costs, lack of availability of plans Etc are what our seniors are facing. Step back and look at the bigger picture! We are less than a tenth of the company that has 50,000 employees. Every email that comes out isn't directed right at HAH! Its A Business!

Not really certain of purpose of BB's letter yesterday. Headline...Opportunity of a Lifetime....I would guess he was talking about himself and upper management only. Then he goes on to address that change can be difficult and that some jobs may no longer be necessary....etc It is like we are the sacrificial lambs so that management can assume greatness. They will trample on our backs to reach the mountain peak. ...but thank you for providing your backs so that we can achieve greatness. Was this letter really meant to make us feel that we are part of the team?? or just warning us to start looking for other work?? It certainly did not make me feel good....or make me feel like I was part of a team..... But hey...they are going to be transparent. That makes it ok then. And the letter ends with that mantra that I am really getting sick of....."Thank you for all you do for our members" Well Mr BB...I wish you well with your Opportunity of a Lifetime" You cannot possibly relate to what it is like for us peons on the bottom. Those of us who have direct contact with the members who you are trying to win over. Thanks for this inspiring letter. Thanks for this letter of motivation.

Why am I blanking out on the 4th of July surprise? Did they have a big layoff then?

Makes me think they know something we don't. Didn't get a good vibe from that email. Are we in for another surprise over the 4th of July weekend like we had 2 years ago? I sure hope not.
