It's a sinking ship

Full time Faculty Instructor (Former Employee) - Novi, MI - June 25, 2017

If you are looking for a job that is rewarding and wanting to help make a difference in the lives of students, look else where. While it started with those good intentions, they now are willing to accept convicted felons, questionable GED's, and poor performers all around. the one or two great students help ease the trials of the 100 or so poor students but those great students are becoming few and far between.

Pros: Good benefits and 401k

Cons: Everything else

Bwaaahhhaaaahhhaaaa...!!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself....

Not all schools run background checks and some instructors obtained their records while working at an EDMC school. I can worked with a couple felons - one would boast about his "hood" background. I googled him and he had a criminal past.

All the employees are considered criminals by students and their families.

They run backgrounds checks on all new employees, even students who work at the school have to complete background checks and drug screens (always have), so your argument of instructors with criminal records is BS. If you have facts about an instructor (s) that are convicted felons, state who and at which school, provide proof, not just fabricated statements.

EDMC has not contributed to 401k for a few years now.

Convicted felons are the instructors too. That fact should be disclosed in the interviewing process. Run background checks on your instructors. Even google turns up gems.

What is wrong with accepting convicted felons who meet academic requirements, have served their time, and no longer pose a risk to the general public? Shouldn't we want them to get an education and become productive members of society? That seems like a positive thing to me.
