It's just Larrabee with a little more marketing thrown at it. Xeon Phi was never given enough money to actually succeed against NVIDIA. The software ecosystem never got supported enough, and given the number of cancelled programs over the last decade, who could blame third parties? There are some good people in the Xeon Phi group, but there is no way this survives intact as a viable product.
