Unfortunately, the manager's rating of the employees that work for them is biased. Who goes with the flow - who doesn't make waves - who does what they're told - who do they like and who idolizes them. If you want to change and be successful then you need to face the facts and know that there are a lot of managers that will survive that should have been the first ones out the door.

Reviews of the managers by the people that work for them (ANONYMOUSLY so no retribution) would bring a lot of this craziness to light.

These are the managers that are making the decisions about who is most valuable? They'll be left with the dead weight once again.

I, for one, can provide a list to management of the people that need to go - waste of money - don't know how to manage - flying UNDER the radar - no innovation - squashes innovation - takes credit for other's accomplishments - discourages teamwork, etc.....

Your managers have already ranked you and those on your team top to bottom and submitted the list to their directors, on up. They will work off those lists to get the numbers they need. Your managers will be told who in most cases will be let go. DPM reviews will reflect it also. Then after everyone RIFd is gone, those remaining will get small raises in September and we'll have more new hire orientations, and so on.

The Management.

Do you think you can scare people? It is pathetic. The truth will always come to light

My manager had a heart and let me know on Thursday. I was told not to tell anyone and it would come officially from HR in the next two weeks. S---s but better than not knowing.

What are severance packages like at Sabre?

Well let's hope it isn't just the individual contributors who are actually doing the work being walked out the door, but many of the useless managers who add nothing but churn to every project. We could fill a list with just their names alone.

Now how long before they start hiring again, pulling in people from outside of the DFW area who have no knowledge of the hire/fire mentality of this company?

Such a viscous cycle.

i am in AS... My manager was kind enough to let me know on thursday that my position was going to be eliminated. she told me a lot of people are about to get rif'd but figured i could use the time over the weekend to get a jump start on polishing my resume.

i really liked my job until recently and while i would rather be doing just about anything else; my time is up.

i just really hope they do this with some humanity and skip the walk of shame flanked by security but i'm sure it's going to s---.

New Hire classes are filled with younger, cheaper, fresh blood. I wouldn't use the fact there are hires as an indication. Sabre isn't going away, no no, they are simply going to dump or downsize areas of slow growth businesses while using the time to muscle out anyone deemed a low performer.

Since Sabre will continue to post bad quarterly results they must cut heads bc investors will be out for blood!

Its the corporate game... they are making you stew in your juices. They don't care about morale! The more people who jump ship the less servance pay they have to shell out. It's about money not morale.

Why don't they leak the bloody list so that we don't have to go through this?

And yet we still have new hire classes all the time. Why?

The CEO is well known for favoring big cuts. Check out his prior track record. Jobs have been cut in all his prior roles and Sabre will not be an exception.

In addition he got himself a 60% raise when Pinnacle Airways went bankrupt. That was in the news big time (Below)

Hearing the same information that a RIF is coming soon.

I guess we can take it easy now until the RIF is done with. Morale being severely impacted due to the uncertainty and upcoming RIF
