Number of Indians at Qualcomm? Are you talking dot or feather?
I have been watching total headcount (38500 as of today) of Qualcomm for past several months. QCOM added about 800 new employees for that period, which is hard to believe. Maybe more in India. Now zero revenue 800 people Corp R&D is under Jim Thompson, and no more safe zone.
That is the number of Indians in QCT

Over the years, they brought over all these indians; now during layoff times, Indians are safe because cheaper ; it's the Americans who get replaced.
Then why are they hiring now in first place?
I think they all love qc but doesn't like the fact that it's going down. If qc loses the legal battle, it will impact the revenue very hard and it's inevitable to shrink the size. QC is already known to eager to move work forces to offshore and this will only accelerate it. It's just very obvious.
People here aren't happy because Q is going down..
It sound like many of the people here is so not too much happy. Instead complane why not go to new job somewhere. Maybe you be more of the happiness. Is very much good time to find of the new job so go do it. Seek happiness and satisfaction of job. Much wisdom is this. I seek new job to nice happy people. I much wish I read blog before go to qualcomm as I would not have go to work here, Too much back stab greed and conflict. This why apple win best people.
OP is off by an order of magnitude. The real number is actually 12,345, minus those who jump from the WT 11th floor balcony prior to the layoff. There will be HR staff on the 9th floor balcony handing the free soda severance package to the jumpers as they fall past on their way down.
Q with its influence and billions in the bank can buy any politicians and lobbyists in Europe to make sure NXP merger will happen sometime this year.
Folks at NXP have no idea the type of sweatshop they will be in once the merger has been approved.
Agreed; it will be hundreds of GTFO packages thru forced PIP , Qualcomm style; nobody outside the company will know about it; in the mean time, H-1Bs keep on pouring in; this is to keep new (cheap) blood flowing; this business model has worked well for Q over the years.
The layoff won't be in one shot, will be in 200-300 numbers so it don't need to be published under department of labor.
