Rumor control is scripted, when department managers were to be dissolved our people were pulled into the training room in groups of eight to ten and we're allowed to ask questions but only allowed answers from a script about 20 pages long. If the answers were not on the script then you got no answers. That is the rumor control currently in play at the Phoenix Arizona stores.

No Store Manager will say anything different. They are programmed to say what corporate says to them. Any kind of rumor that has some justification will get them in trouble. Don't be naive. Something is happening July 29th but what that is who knows?? I think it's LP and HR removals first. I see specialists next year but who knows they might make a clean sweep from start.
Since when can you trust a store manager? Wake up.
I just had the same thing in my store SM said the "rumors" are not true that they had a conference call with our DM but my question is if it's spreading that fast store to store makes me still feel uneasy about it all
What the hell do you think they are going to say? SM's are just puppets. They do whatever the stupid market manager tells them to do. Keep um calm until we can chop off their heads. Don't we all feel like turkeys around thanksgiving? Waiting for that big cut.
Just left Lowes after 14 years. Was an ASM DEPT MANGER, SSM. Feels great. I gave a lot and in recent times realized it didnt matter. Freight, IPR and cycle counts out of control. I'll continue to work until they tell me I don't work there anymore...Then I'll do a big brain-dump of everything I know and move on. Only been unemployed about 2-weeks at a time in between jobs over the course of the last 40 years, so,nothing for me to lose sleep over and get upset about something I have no control over. Life goes on. If they really wanted to save a few dollars more, tell me now and get it over. Hell, I never even knew about these "rumors" until my store manager brought it up in the manager's meeting to not pay any attention to what's being said or what's going on in the social media chats.

Your management is just trying to maintain morale. Hard to hit numbers and maintain productivity when they expect to lose their jobs.
