AMD Takes 10.4% CPU Share From Intel In Q2 2017, Its Largest Quarterly Share Gain In History

_AMD has reportedly gained 10.4 percentage points of CPU market share in the second quarter of 2017. This makes it the largest x86 CPU market share gain in the history of the Sunnyvale, California based chip maker against its much larger rival Intel.

AMD now commands 31% of the market, which constitutes the largest CPU share level the company has reached in a decade. Only a quarter back the company was sitting at 20.6%. A 10%+ share gain in a single quarter is unheard of in the x86 CPU market and truly reflects the magnitude of this achievement for AMD._

This is The Impact. What impact do 13000 FLMs in INTEL versus 10300 overall number of employees in NVIDIA! :-)))

This was the source but i knew right away when l read it that the author of the site that first made this story and also all the ones that repeat the news, doesn't understand the statistics.

The statistics is updated every day and based on people benchmarking. But q3 was just based on one days data or possible only few hours since all the data there is from this quarter. That day had amd at 31% but that was surely just a temporary spike. The way I know it was just a one day spike is that the share has been relatively steady for a long time during q2 with daily updates. So don't be surprised if the curve flattens over time and the 10% gain they write about turns to 1%.
