WFR - Final Severance Payment?

DXC was quick to have a final paycheck deposited (all 3 Days) prior to the WFR notice, but the packet just says remainder will be within 30 days. Can anyone share their experience of how long it took? Did it really take almost 30 days? OMG I hope not.

This whole process is completely unacceptable. HPE was allowed to continue drawing their bi-monthly salary until severance was exhausted. Considering they didn't even pay for unused Vacation Time, these B@$%^%$#ds waited for DXC transition to complete to minimize their financial loss.

Lesson learned, burn your Vacation people, put yourself before company and project, because they won't look out for you! Don't wait, do it now.

Severance Update Folks - OK received a final Severance payment today. Ladies and Gentlemen doing the math is appears there are two Severance Programs. HPE Employees continue to receive their scheduled pay, on the normal pay schedule, more importantly paying just standing payroll taxes.

DXC approach to Severance payment is a single lump sum payment. This introduced another "Bend Over and grab your ankles moment". I apologize to the Ladies and those offended by the visualization. Since your receiving a lump sum, the money is taxed at higher rates, and considered a capitol gain, this is the only way I can explain the additional taxes. My Tax rate jumped from 28% to 35.5% on the lump sum payment. So on average, expect your last payment to be between 7K to 8K less than you were expecting.

Good luck to all, and very glad that my last interaction with this company is completed.

To those who are following this thread, my experience in North America. My WFR came unannounced on June 22nd, last day June 23rd. My final check was deposited the last day of work.

I tried to follow the equipment turn-in process given at the time of WFR, but no-one (and I do mean no one) at the office knew who took the laptops, phones, or id badges. So went online, found an address to mail the equipment back to. Had to pay $45.00 dollars out of pocket to return the equipment. Honestly I was worried they may withhold the final Severance Payment until after their laptop was returned (even though it was an older than dirt model, probably to be bull-dozed and crushed for the tax write-off, didn't want to take the chance.

So just got notified that HR cut the check for the final payment, don't know if it's Direct Deposit or a FEDEX check yet, still waiting. So for those who find themselves in this situation, the average time between final pay, and severance payment, will be approximately 16 Days!.

I hope this helps someone.

In Australia my severance payment was already in my bank account (as cleared funds) 1 business day prior to the redeployment period expiring. If I had accepted a redployment on the last day (madness at best) then I would have had to pay back the severance pay pronto. In the end I took the WFR, was out of work for 8 weeks and employed by a competitor to DXC but with a 35% pay increase.

Take the WFR and run away from DXC.

Thanks for posting your experience, at least we have some guidelines on when or how long it takes.

If you are in the US it is probably around a week after your "official" termination date to receive your severance check. Mine took right out a week from my termination date a week and a half ago and came by FedEx. And yeah, no sick leave balance pay out either. I had over 900 hours and they said when your terminated it is simply all gone, balance wiped.

You answered your own question... your FINAL check was already deposited. There isn't any more money to be distributed to you. You are gone; DXC is happy; end of story.
