Thread regarding Sears layoffs

One touch too much too late!

Clearing the stock rooms is definitely a good idea for customers to see we don't have what they're looking. That's say you have people in your store to bring it on the floor. And you're lucky enough to get it to the floor who's going to merchandise it properly? Let's say you get it merchandised correctly now who's going to sign it every 4 days? Ok your backroom, CSAs and MCAs got it all set, cool right? No let's remember you only have one backroom guy working MPU, doing UPS, web orders and arguing with customers about why we don't services items. Then CSAs don't stock merchandise because it doesn't pay to put it away it just sits in an isle on a cart for days and your MCAs is now a cashier begging for credit. Oh by the way 200 hours need to be cut this week. Serve delight and engage this is why you're going out of business.

I came in today at my sears store and asked the GM if there's any word on getting some product in... he quickly states to me get as much out onto the floor from what we have in the back room. Not addressing my question , so I asked again he tells me well we have a truck planned for today and not sure when the next one is coming in the shelves are getting bare in out store kinda makes me wonder if he knows more then he is letting on to.

Its the cutting thats just hurting and hurting the sales. The only things in my department that are well staffed is #1 Appliances they still got 2 to 3 associates sitting their butts down doing nothing. I guess they do sell time to time though. As the rest goes to Mattress etc.

The cuts however just hurt gets harder and harder to keep up its just not easy to keeping the company alive. Managers arent helping so that makes matters worse. They assume that by cutting more t hey save more, but than who rings the people? Who does the processes? Who deals with the customers...

There is no plan to save Sears, its a plan to extract as much value from Sears as possible, and giving enough time for Eddie and Co to walk away with as much money as possible.

Actually this isn't why sears is going out of business. This is a result of sears going out of business. Eddie and your high ranking executives have essentially put you on life support. You have just enough staff for the most essential, basic systems required to keep the lights on. It has nothing to do with the efficiency of those systems as long as they're on to some degree. This isn't the plan to save sears. It's the plan to try to buy enough time to think of another plan to save sears.

As unfortunate as it is for the individual, your own cost would have killed sears a long time ago otherwise.
