Looks like HR took thins last week off, so we remain at 4,000 laid off for FY18 year to date and, 10,000 for FY17, for a total of 14,000 since 6/1/2016. More layoffs coming in the coming weeks and months, so keep looking for a new job and leave asap. Happy 4th to everybody in the US!

Hahaha! Proctor in the house.
Information about employee count is Oracle Confidential so should not be posted here. What is your Line Of Business and director's name?
In the USA, the June 1, 2017 RIF event gave notice to many with a "your last day @ oracle" end date of July 7. The "systems" won't show who's gone until next week .
My CX pre sales team was cut from 180 to 90 (50% gone). Some of bower had been with oracle for 15-20 years
The numbers are what is currently reflected in Oracle's systems. Oracle's worldwide headcount is just below 140,000, MH's share of that is in the high 80,000s and, of that, Europe and Asia focused sales groups account for about 1/4 . In the course of June, Europe and Asia had net growth as hiring outpaced layoffs -- even those who were part of the approximate 400 who were let go during the first week of June. Oracle's system hasn't reflected any further cuts since then.
The accounting of how many have been let go isn't straightforward because if Oracle notified someone that they are being impacted, but there is "grace period" before they are officially released, then those layoffs aren't counted in Oracle's system until after their final day. That is what happened over the weekend as those US employees who were notified at the beginning of June had their last day on Friday and finally rolled off of the internal count. It could be a similar situation for those in Europe and, potentially, Asia.
While the dust hasn't settled, the current numbers do indicate 1200 have had their last day at Oracle since the FY began (although the "net" loss is closer to 700 since some teams are hiring rapidly). Since most of the layoffs that just registered in the system this week appear to be focused on North America, it wouldn't be surprising to see the numbers grow in Asia and Europe over the coming weeks and months.
You numbers ignore cuts in Europe and India, the 4,000 is much closer to the truth
As for hacking into HCM -- it appears that some groups lost about 400 in headcount the first week of June and another 800 just had their last day at the end of June. Based on that, it looks like the actual number is more like 1,200 this FY so far.
The cuts seem like they were focused mainly in North America and were just over 1% of MH's overall headcount. That percentage could be claimed to be even smaller as a few teams under MH have added hundreds of people in the past month, so it covers up how other teams are losing their jobs. I'm sure that MH would use statistics like those to defend his claim to CNBC that there weren't going to be sales layoffs in June.
However, there were layoffs and they weren't insignificant. Most US-based sales teams experienced a few percent cut, but there were a few groups that pulled the average up above 5% overall. The on-premise hardware sales experienced a 14% cut. Pre-sales engineering gutted any teams tied mainly to on-premise technology with layoff rates as high as 30-40%.
Added then up week by week based on what people report here on the layoff and by talking to buddies in different groups. Absent formal announcements by oracle, These numbers are as good as humanely possible without hacking into HCM
Happy the fourth...
How did you come up with your numbers?
Just curious....
