From employment law: An employee who is on FMLA leave may be considered for layoff during a reduction in workforce so long as the employee is not chosen for layoff on the basis of FMLA leave.
Sorry to hear though someone is on FMLA and included in a RIF.
Pharmacist-layed off while on protected fmla. Told not performance based. WTF
I also was on family leave and got a phone call telling me I was laid off in the end of June.
@6qaf - They targeted hourly and higher paid and long time employees in this round. Of course they won't tell you that or anyone else but I've touched based with almost 30 of the pharmacists let go and the average time of service was 9 years and they were the higher paid pharmacists in their store/district. They tried to get most hourly pharmacists to go to one of their salary plans so it doesn't surprise me that they were on the "list" too.

I was hourly and the health and wellness manager just basically said they had to get rid of X amount of people and I was on the list :(
Was there any reason for this? We're you a part time staff rph there? How was the store metrics, underperforming? Did you have the pharmacy hours shortened a month or two ago? Or no possible reason at all?
