Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

receiving clerks

beware!! it's coming.....not sure if in next phase or after but its coming.....When they announced last year that Walmart got rid of accounting and rec.office it was a clear sign of change. everyone is replaceable right now but I can guarantee Mr.Sam would not have done things this way.He would have found a way to compete with the new tech and taken care of his associates.I wish they would just do it and be done with it.

The TIL will be doing everything this is funny the clerks do more than the company knows they just thinks all receiving clerk stays in the office that has never happened in my club What a joke . Who will cover days off vacations? Oh the auto receiving will.

The major point here, Sam's Club wants to Illuminate the higher paid, experienced and dedicated associate. So the fat cat executives can pad their pockets more, so they can leave the company in a few years with millions. I have been employed with Sam's Cub over 20 years as a PTC, the turn over is out of control because the pay and merit isn't there anymore. Aassociates and managers are who makes it happen, and Sams club wake up get RID of the fat cats executes that have no bearing or impact on the business. Illuminate the executives and put the money in who makes it happen and that are the associates and managers in the clubs. Good luck Sam's Club and I do believe you are a sinking ship.

I was an audit team leader and my severance package was garbage! I've been with the company for almost 26 years. My severance package was about $21,600.

If home office would be able to go into clubs with out a club being "ready" seeing the reality of receiving in a high volume club they would see how much receiving does and how much those associates are a assisate to the company! they are already doing member service by making sure the merchandise the member wants is in the club and comes in correctly, prices are correct, nothing is damaged, most receiving clerks do alot more then just receiving clerk job description, isn't this what the company wants someone that is willing to go over and beyond call of duty to make sure thier product they paid for already is correct etc etc. If they would just explain WHY have a video or something to explain what this will do for the good of the associates, members and assates of the company instead of just giving the instruction to management and making them being the bare of bad news and putting so much on management shoulders like having to face these 20 plus year associates and say we are having to let you go as the company is restructuring

Agree about the "simplification" being a joke for accounting. I have years of shredding I have yet to find a magic wand for. All I see that changed is how long we keep anything. Just waiting for my severance package to leave the sinking ship.

You're right about severance pay out. It's not what people would think, especially for the 20-25+ partners. Based on your own personal average hrs for all yrs of service. People may be shocked to find their pay put won't even be averaged @ 37 1/2 per week, be prepared for lower.

Yes it is coming. Audit had stuff taken away from them they thought this is great but then they got blindsided. Are they buying out or what? I wonder. I hear and of July beginning of August more cuts. Who knows?? I feel like we all are on a chopping block.

Simplifying was absurd. Acct binders held hard copy that has a two year retention. Made no sense to throw them out, so now to comply with retention the stuff goes in a box! Someone point out the simplify I failed to see it. Spend more time on the floor? Doing what? I did the math for severance and it is nothing. The layoff will come before the fourth quarter for sure. They want us gone and paid off by the holiday time

Yes. When they had us "simplify" the receiving and accounting offices 2 weeks ago per the club action on the wire. You know somethings up. And by a certain day no less, June 23rd. Supposedly its so we can spend more time on sales floor, performing customer service. In what job positon? NO full time jobs available in my club currently.
