Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Good quality of life news for at least a few Lowe's stores

Those working in Seattle stores now have legal protection when it comes to scheduling hours. From now on, schedules have to be posted two weeks in advance and there is a mandatory 10 hour gap between shifts.

Our shifts have been all over the place, and I have had to return to work eight hours after finishing my previous shift more often than not lately. I am constantly exhausted, and for me personally, this would be a huge deal. Granted, if the managers there are anything like mine, they will bend over backwards to find ways to avoid complying with the new law, but still, I'd be doing cartwheels if this was my store.

Our corporate rotation has been screwed up, doubling days off 2 weeks in a row. Not just a few people, but the majority of the store.

They schedule you all over the place so you can't find another part time job. They are paranoid it may cause them to lose a sale. They keep feeding employees the bs of family and loving where you live. They are the worst of the worst.

Lowe's doesn't care. These new schedules only work for younger. Another way of discriminating against the old without breaking law. People just use them. Milk the time there and get paid.

This is great news! I've done a 6 hour turn and burn before; midnight to 6 am. The lack of sleep puts us at risk for an accident and means we are not very productive on the second day.

I don't know why Lowes can't schedule all opens one week, mids another week and closes the third week. What possible gains are there from having people scheduled all over the place? They can fill in with part time people. Instead full timers are scheduled around partimers schedules.
