Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Bogus terminations at Advance Auto Parts

I recently was let go from advance after 4 years, they say because my performance wasn't up to par, but out of 13 stores I was one of three making target. The layoffs were designed to remove the good or high paid. I think advance has made big mistakes with the mergers, the acquisitions and they have forgotten those that are most important for the company, the customers and the employees that face the customers.

I ran store 9749 in worcester ma... my store did 60 to 70k a week... always beat target. 3 of my AGMS became GMs... I was "audited" and disciplined because of my salary and ultimately quit... my new DM had it out for me from day 1. He was a friend of the rvp ... guy named rich Flaherty. Total douche. I called him out on bullsh-t and he hated me. Sh---y company. I hope he gets he---s.

I totally agree! I was with the company for 10 years lead GM in the district had the highest volume store and was let go after a DM change. I also agree it was because of my tenure and pay scale that I was let go! After I was let go two of my GM peers and good friends walked out because they saw the writing on the wall and didn't care for the new DM which had been removed from position before and was fired himself within the first. The company loss three good mangers because because of their poor upper management decisions! Now one comment I read about Mike Pack I will disagree with I was in his region out of Florida when he was in Alabama, never had a issue with him we always got along well!

Agreed. On average, how long do people make it as a GM at an Advance store or warehouse? Enough said.

After you become a GM the only place to go is out the door. They'd rather higher people from the outside who are used to moving around every 2-3 years I guess. How's that approach working for them?
