Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

O vs MSFT

So MSFT just announced that they are laying off 4,000 employees, the same number that Oracle has laid off since 6/1/2017, yet there is a significant difference here. MSFT had the decency and maturity to make a public announcement; oracle never does, tries to fly under the radar. Conclusion: MSFT managed by mature adults; oracle by immature, underhanded sheisters

From what I have heard from ex-Microsoft people is that Microsoft also employs the "stealth layoff" strategy when it can. Most likely this one was too big to hide.

Let's not kid ourselves, there are no large employers with a conscience.

Scheysters is right, screwing employees, customers and producing fictional cloud revenues - see other threads, no new revenues and no new cash, just shifting of renewal revenues to pretend cloud deals

The funny thing is Oracle had a huge jump on Amazon, Microsoft, and everyone else with cloud tech because Sun was building AWS way before AWS. Larry shut it down shortly after the acquisition, didn't see the future in cloud services. One of the biggest missteps ever and noone has ever really written about it.
