Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Internet Fullfillment Stores

For those that don't know, Lowe's is trying to compete w/ Amazon on parcel shipping and using select stores as the distribution centers.

It s---s.

Talk about organized chaos.

Yes, its good for the stores sales, but the training and hours needed to operate is slim to none. \

Service managers and ASMs pulling orders all day, grabbing ppl out of Depts despite coverage and wiping out shelves and ignoring in store customers is laughable.

The stores are shifting philosophies again and the ripple effect will be felt from wall to wall.

Sterling was close to a billion dollars down the rabbit hole. For all the money Lowes got nothing. It was supposed to replace the outdated Genesis system that Lowes still uses.

The system used is Sterling. Which, no one knows how to use besides the few selected individuals can do.

What s---s is that the system shows a hold on items purchased but doesn't take away from OH quanity. It wipes out shelves throughout the day and that increases downstocking and time away from customers.

Especially on Black Friday. Good luck.

It probably would help them. That's the way of the world. Online fulfillment is the next big thing. No surprise amazon is worth $350 billion+

We as working middle class Americans need to stand together organize and unionize against these

big greedy companies and their overpaid ceo's. We are loosing our rights, benefits and hours. We are the ones that make money for them...So why shouldn't we have a voice and tell them what we want.

During the 30's-40's-50's working people had to fight for better wages, hours and working conditions.

It's history repeating it's self.

How can Lowe's compete with Amazon when they use a 1990's Operating System??

I firmly believe in 5 years Lowe's will be closing a lot of stores and have a distribution center in every state for same day or next day delivery. They think that will save them.
