Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Good info on DXC post-layoff procedures

Really good info for those interested in the whole process after being laid off.

To those who are following this thread, my experience in North America. My WFR came unannounced on June 22nd, last day June 23rd. My final check was deposited the last day of work.

I tried to follow the equipment turn-in process given at the time of WFR, but no-one (and I do mean no one) at the office knew who took the laptops, phones, or id badges. So went online, found an address to mail the equipment back to. Had to pay $45.00 dollars out of pocket to return the equipment. Honestly I was worried they may withhold the final Severance Payment until after their laptop was returned (even though it was an older than dirt model, probably to be bull-dozed and crushed for the tax write-off, didn't want to take the chance.

So just got notified that HR cut the check for the final payment, don't know if it's Direct Deposit or a FEDEX check yet, still waiting. So for those who find themselves in this situation, the average time between final pay, and severance payment, will be approximately 16 Days!.

I hope this helps someone.

I hope you don't mind me bumping it into a thread, @O53c7fI-3atb.

CSC (Now DXC) had a horrible reputation as the "beltway bandit" in the HQ region of VA. . Underpays its talents. If you got WFR 'd , give thanks and move on with the knowledge it was probably the universe doing you a big favor... They can change their name , but its the same evil jockeys riding the same beat up old team of mules. Don't be that in that team of mules.

I was laid off from this awful place back in March. It took them two months before they sent me a prepaid FedEx box to ship my laptop back. They didn't even realize I had a second company laptop. I put both of them in the box and sent them back.

On top of that they never turned off my DXC email so I can still sign in from my mobile phone. They did provide 30 days of healthcare after I was laid off, however I could not afford to pay the COBRA after that. What is most interesting though, is even though I didn't pay the COBRA I still have full insurance through DXC four months later. Just like my email, my health insurance is still active. I didn't realize it until I went to pick up some prescriptions. I was expecting several hundred dollars however they were still 8 to 10 dollars each and I'm still getting emails from United healthcare asking me how I like the service and whether other family members are covered by different insurance.

In their rush to move every business process, role, function or anything that isn't bolted to the floor to India their entire business operating model has collapsed and their internal systems are in shambles. My suggestion is to take maximum advantage of that.

Out of the thousands of people that they are laying off good luck trying to take everyone to court that they claim they overpaid.

: @O8WVcWU-4xaj- yes, sadly but true they are vultures.. not to be acting as legal expert, I have been advised to ignore and DXC will be able to write it off at the end of the year anyway... they are truly pathetic in handling the WFR process... they are not fearful of legal ramifications because they know they will either change the company name in 2018 or simply "dump" it....

The alleged overpayment and demand for repayment sounds like fraud. Time to call in the Feds ...

At the beginning of WFRs since April Spain merge, notified on Monday and last day on Friday. It considered workweek but that week is considered part of your severence week.

They deposited the last check into your account if you have direct deposit with no explanation. Then another one via mail delivery. Some people even got Fedx to notify them they "actually" were overpaid and demanded a payback check be made out to dxc (in the amount "allegedly" owed ) be sent back to dxc. They included Fedx return envelope. It's a joke!!!

If too much was deducted, you get it back when you file your taxes next year.

Upon being notified of your WFR - did HR provide you with an estimate of how much the payout would be (gross before taxes and net after taxes are applied)? If not then raise an urgent ContactHR ticket to get that information which you are entitled to be provided with.

Folks, please do share the information as to what bumped you folks when you were getting out of the door, so that other DXC Brethen can learn from it.

.... and GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU FOLKS and am sure you would do well outside of DXC / Legacy HPE / Useless Legacy EDS.

An update for everyone following either thread...

Severance Update Folks - OK received a final Severance payment today. Ladies and Gentlemen doing the math is appears there are two Severance Programs. HPE Employees continue to receive their scheduled pay, on the normal pay schedule, more importantly paying just standing payroll taxes.

DXC approach to Severance payment is a single lump sum payment. This introduced another "Bend Over and grab your ankles moment". I apologize to the Ladies and those offended by the visualization. Since your receiving a lump sum, the money is taxed at higher rates, and considered a capitol gain, this is the only way I can explain the additional taxes. My Tax rate jumped from 28% to 35.5% on the lump sum payment. So on average, expect your last payment to be between 7K to 8K less than you were expecting.

Good luck to all, and very glad that my last interaction with this company is completed.
