it really s---s when you sacrifice your time and family to be accountable and taking initiative/risk to architecture solutions but only to have it taken away by others who just goes sit there doing nothing to move the company forward. Had enough and left. I just wish i can have those time wasted back to spend time with my kids.

Imo, there are some bad managers and employee in all locations dfw, banglore and krakow. I think Sabre need to hunt down those managers and their protected friends , implements an open competition environment where the best have an opportunity to succeed as oppose to be used by theses do nothing managers.

Ex-employee here. Left of my own free will and have loved my new job for years.

There's life on the other side. The sketchy way the company goes around the WARN requirements tells you all you need to know about ethics at the top. Following the letter of the law with respect to WARN is legal, but disregarding the spirit isn't respectable.

The people I worked with were smart and hard-working. They deserved better. You probably do, too. Don't let them make you feel small.

I heard the layoffs will happen in waves beteeen mid July and September so the company can avoid WARN notice. Does WARN offer employees additional benefits or just makes the layoffs public?

Looking at this posting validates the major issue - teamwork. U.S. employees against off shore low cost centers and low cost centers coming back and against U.S. employees. This will never end when management encourages and instigates the discord. A project that is setup in the U.S. with resources off shore is painful, the time difference, the inability to make decisions during off hours (mostly because of culture) slows the project down. Then the finger pointing and witch hunt when the project begins to go sideways stuns everyone and then comes the back stabbing. We spend most of our time covering ourselves so everything that's said and done is documented because we know eventually we will have to protect our reputation. This is a waste of valuable time but necessary because of the inability of management to adequately manage their employees.

If management wants to be "Global" (which is another word for LCC) then they HAVE GOT TO encourage teamwork and accept nothing less. Do not take sides (this is what happens) - untangle the web and demand that the project gets done, on time and correctly and that's it - nothing else.

Polish developers make 50-60% of American salaries, not one quarter.

Don't forget that Sabre is being run into the ground by American management. All SVPs and above are located in DFW.

Look at Sabre's profit margins and ask yourself if you can afford native Texans. At the same time you can check your org chart and count which race is prevailing at the moment. Hint: not your father's.

Yes, DFW is HQ and no one tries to dispute that. You are responsible for the poor state of the company and this is why you're being let go.

From this quote: "You lack English skills, aviation/travel experience, do not respond to emails timely and generally lack the American work ethic" I especially like the last part because after reading things like "i hate this company", "menke can s---k d--k", etc I'm happy i lack american work ethic. Maybe offshore lacks aviation/travel experience but DFW could learn a lot about technology and gain a little brainpower. If you are so good at what you do why are we not getting new airlines and losing old ones? Sales are in HQ, right? Quoting someone else: Best of luck in your new endeavour!

South America MVD will be affected. Mostly because it is no longer a (very) low cost center.

Look, Sabre in DFW is called headquarters for a reason. If you can't accept that this site is more US centric then you need to comment on a .pl site. Low cost centers exist because Sabre let go our friends and coworkers because it can pay you a quarter of what a US person is paid. You lack English skills, aviation/travel experience, do not respond to emails timely and generally lack the American work ethic. We find your low quality work to be irritating because we have to redo a lot of it. Like it or not, DFW is the center of the world for Sabre, the rest are just branch offices.

Not to mention, the lack of knowledge in the aviation/airline industry with the offshore tech teams. I seriously doubt we save any money with all of the rework and bloated estimates due to not having a clue.

To: @O8flxFE-1kmu - Actually you just showed how narrow minded you are. What do you call third world - Europe? We have office in London, Viena, Cracow. We have sales people even in Warsaw. In the past we had office in Malmo that was part of company that was bought but was shut down. We have people in Scottsdale but you think only about DFW just like it would be center of the world. Even your current President was yesterday at Poland. Start to think that Sabre is global company, what was in the past is gone. You think that you are the smart one? Then why London is financial capitol and Cracow is in top ten cities in the world when it come to outsourcing? IBM, Oracle, Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson, UBS, Lufthansa those companies are there in Cracow and many Sabre employees were working there or moving to them. Stop thinking about BLR only - Europe most probably will also be affected.

Dear @O8flxFE-1tjf,

How about you learn the effing language before posting anti-US rhetoric. Better yet crawl back into your third world call center of non-excellence. Sabre started as a US based business doing business in other countries then got greedy and went to low cost center countries for manpower. Later it perpetuated and touted "84% of promotions being non-DFW employees." Go service a curry goat.

Intestersting to see how narrow-minded you guys are that tend to mainly focus in US and forget about the rest of the world. That unfortunately also happens in everyday life and I think that is one of the reasons why Sabre does not grow enough. If you are in discontent, you do not need to waste time, just leave and stop spreading your bad vibe. If you are such great workers and Sabre cannot value, you will find something else.

Best of luck in your new endeavor!

@KissMyMenke,

You will get paid for unused PTO that you have accrued. With the year half over, we all have accrued about half our PTO. If you used all of your PTO this year, you would owe the company for half your PTO. If you have used none of your PTO, then you get paid for half your number of PTO days.

This is why everyone should use floating holidays first before any PTO because you do not get paid for unused floating holidays. Speaking of which, now that Robinson is out, can we give back MLK Day and get back our third PTO day?!

This is all happening around mid year DPM reviews. So, if you get a 1 on 1 meeting with your manager, they SHOULD be putting DPM Review in the subject line if it is the review. Historically, layoff discussions have no subject but may request you be in person in you are known to work from home often.

Anyone else getting strange 1 on 1's?

They never let you know on a Friday. It's always a Monday or a Tuesday and then they are like Friday the (Insert date here, usually the same week or the next week) is your last day. If you walk into work any Monday or Tuesday and see a lot of "official" looking people milling around between 9 and 10..then there will be walk outs the same day. Wondering if this time they'll have to send out a WARN letter tho.

Most if not all companies do not conduct layoffs on a Friday. Usually on a Monday or Tuesday.

I doubt it. Many people work from home on Fridays. If anyone gets an invite for a one on one first thing tomorrow, let us know.
