top- think about it. How many times have you heard of an inventory after Aug.? October is right when the stores are getting holiday merchandise. REGIS does inventory for more than just SHC and they do more than just inventory stores. They also come into the store to pull things like movies and DVD's.

Closing a store is not just something that they pick a store out of a hat one day and announce they are closing the next month. Stores that are closing have been picked months in advance because you have to notify vendors not to stock products, notify DC's what merchandise to ship and not to ship for liquidation, cancel contracts, leases, etc. Corporate knows which stores they are closing and in what order.

Think about this. What if they closed a lot of stores in an area but kept one open. Then they would have to send a truck to one lone store to make a delivery. Not very cost effective. Notice how stores are closed in a district or region in clusters. They do this, no matter if your store makes money or not, because of logistics. Delivery and DC concerns come into play for closing stores as well as making money.

Business will go on until the last day. Even if bankruptcy is filed, they still have to get rid of the stuff in all the DCs. When a store starts liquidation, they continue to receive massive trucks of merchandise so it can be liquidated. We were told last September that we were closing and continued to receive trucks until the middle of November. And December 11 was the last day to the public. To the poster that said inventory is moved to October, you will likely be told soon that you are closing. Both inventories and store closings are planned months in advance so corporate already has you marked. No stores ever inventory after August as it is usually too busy (even at Kmart and Sears).

None of us know the truth on any of this. There could be other reasons inventory was pushed back. Don't they still hire in RGIS or a company like that? There are two parties involved here...not just Sears Holdings. I wouldn't jump to a store is closing because their inventory has been pushed back.

If your inventory has been cancelled or pushed back it is a sign that your store is closing. Inventory prep and schduleing is done months in advance. To push it back would indicate that the liquidators are coming in to buy the inventory.

But on the bright side you will definitely get 40 hours a week during liqidation. I made as much in two months while out store closed then I would have working the rest of the year with little hours.

BK leads to big bonuses (aka remuneration) for the executives and other "key" individuals who are supposedly crucial to the BK process. BK laws s---.

BK will help inventory, because suppliers will be protected for sales post BK. So they will be more willing to ship. Let's hope that we can restructure under Chapter 11 soon!

Everyone's running around like a chicken with their head cut off because of inventory at our store. What everyone doesn't realize is that the damage.has been done already--because of the SHOPLIFTERS walking out with our stuff every freaking day. Corporate knows this because they watch the stores remotely, they have to see something at some point.

No amount of worrying or going crazy over inventory will "fix" the massive shrink we will have, just like all the other years.

Once it crosses our thresholds out of the store, it's done, it's water under the bridge, there's nothing we can do, except spend some money on an LP department, which we won't do.

It is what it is. Just another day.
