Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

HR positions

I received an email on my Lowe's account stating that health insurance (and maybe other insurance and benefits) will soon be or are already online at a new web site. This would lend credence to the HR positions in stores going away. We can never find our HR person anyway; the lights are out and no one is home.

Our live nursery specialist already has keys to the gate(s), propane cages, and trash compactor. Who knows what else she has. I asked her about and she said she was just "given" the keys and told not to say anything. This was around the time of the great purge; ASM's down to three and DM's to service managers.

Any news on HR situation? I have read so many contradicting things all over the place, it'd be nice to know if there is any credence to any of it.

They might as well get rid of the HR people. Every time I have ever asked hours a question she always refers me and everyone I've ever heard her talk to, to a website anyway. They're useless!!

I have heard nothing concrete but so many things that are recently freeing up time for HRM's would also support a transition. Honestly I think the best way this benefits site is going to work if HR managers are not in the store, otherwise the employees will still be going to them and it will defeat its purpose. Time will tell.
