@ips - Maybe the whole ignorance is bliss routine works well for the weak minded, however, the majority of us have stronger mental constitutions. We can handle disappointing news and carry on with our lives at the same time. It may require a little more effort and courage, but we are up to the challenge!

The OP is blunt but makes a good point. All this obsession over impending layoffs is senseless. What difference does it make if you find out that there will be another 400 job cuts coming? Will you pray it's not you? How will knowing this information make it better for you?

It's like you know that eating donuts and sweets everyday is bad for you but you won't stop. But instead you obsess over your obesity. Easy solution is to STOP. Stop donuts, stop working at Sears. Do what you actually have control over, which is to put your energy into finding a better job and getting the heck out.

OP: this is a layoff forum. If I want a sermon or feel good advice, I'll go to a church... or a brothel. So I'm glad you are vacating the premises.

Actully post like this are a waste thanks for leaving... we as employees just want to know what is going on inside the company with our jobs, pension, layoffs, benefits. Form insiders with good information to share with us. Again thank you for leaving.
