Heard that tapes team will last for quite a while. Is this true or just empty assurance? Can someone with inside info share an insight on the future of tapes.

We won't use our own tape because we don't see the need to backup our customer data. You know how many data loss issues we've had in our public cloud? I can't believe anyone trusts us with their data.
One would think that with the explosion in data that needs to be backed up that the tape drive biz would be thriving, Bad guess.
