Amazon is hiring over 12,000 people in warehouses in like 12 distribution centers with the average starting salary around $13.00 per hour in the South (more up North & West). This is just the start too. This is bad news for Lowe's, and spells the beginning of the end for big box retailers. Lowe's may hang around for a while longer, but 75% of all job at the store level will be gone in 5 years. Sorry, but it's true. Get your resumes in order and start applying now. Amazon is the future and Lowe's is the past. The managers in our store keep saying "If they don't get great service here they can order it on Amazon." So? What do I care if Lowe's bites the dust and the rich pricks lose money?

Lowe's thinks we NEED them. I might as well drop my healthcare. It's pretty much worthless with super high deductibles and things that won't be covered like Rehab for injuries. Have to meet deductible first. Which is insane. It's like a doctor's visit. Nope you have to pay 100% first.
So true, so true!
I've spent 10 years of my life at Lowe's and it's been a thankless job. I've worked my a-- off and I all I get is the same raise as the laziest co-worker some of whom have been recently hired and are making more than me.
All they care about is making their bonus or getting stock options.
