From the last few threads, the information is mixed on whether there were any layoffs today in Solaris / ZFS. Folks, please post any you know of?
Also, Sparc seems eerily quiet. Are they getting affected this week too?

Exactly the news were leaked two weeks ago and they themselves have identified open positions across teams and have pushed many in our QA team in INDIA for Internal Transfers already .. None of the managers in my past few yrs of experience have done this quick..
The rumors leaked here two weeks ago. I'm not trying to defend the managers, but the ZFS layoffs were not a well guarded secret.
The old SUN managers (In India) themselves who are in risk have helped many to get placed today in QA team.. hatsoff to humanity and commitment and dedication even when they are on fire themselves...

We have been fired today in Bangalore ZFSSA QA team.
In our team, 50% kept for sustaining and other teams are huge it seems.
Affected teams are ZFSSA core team(50%), AIE, micro and automation are 80% reduction.
Next will be in other regions..all the best guys...
Heard M9 is to be canceled as well.
In India , NCGs in storage were affected. These are the same people that were hired as "future of Oracle" a year or so back.
The people who got these meetings notices .. why didn't you go to your manager knock his door and ask him why the hell you want to meet .
I know mama gets are not suppose to say much .. but I also know that there are good managers who know these people have families , and they will give you a hint to look else where it to prepare yourself , even if they don't say it literally . After all these managers are also on the chopping block and they are humans too and scared as much as you are .
I'm so scared, all of meeting rooms are booked by managers.
Can confirm that there are bunch of layoffs planned for the ZFS-SA group on Thursday. Cuts are massive. You should have trouble accessing myHr if you are in the firing line and you don't know yet. Let's all try and stay positive.
It begins. I have a calendar invite with my manager tomorrow morning. No explanation, no content in the invite . Subject says "meeting".
I know my manager has poor imagination, but she topped herself ! After years of beautification surgeries, I think pain killers are taking their toll on her imagination.
NPE or QA ? I am worried I will be affected too, I have , eerily, my regular 1:1 tomorrow , not sure if it's my last one. If it is , I need to know what to do with my laptop.

I am affected too (tomorrow), and to my knowledge, it will be more than 50% across different sites
