Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

No sarcasm please-

Can someone explain why some employees are Dell and some are DellEMC?

Is there a difference? Aren't you all Dell now? Who am I losing? Dell or EMC contacts? Seriously, I like Dell prices but prefer EMC people. Can I have the best of both, Dell prices and EMC skills?

Example: I could by anything from Dell, and they'd sell me anything I want. My EMC crew walked away from business when I wanted to do something dumb. (Hard to admit). I respected them for it and brought them back and bought 3x more of the right stuff. I'm over simplifying but you get the point. EMC with lower prices- I'm all in!

Dell and Dell EMC are subsidiaries of Dell Technologies and if you want to follow a bunch of links to details, the wikipedia site for Dell is pretty good https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell EMC is now Dell EMC There are still some differences between the two companies Dell and Dell EMC, but it's probably only a matter of time before those differences smooth out for most employees.

You are still working with EMC employees. You're not losing anyone important so you have nothing to worry about. In fact, the reduction in force is only making the company better and stronger.

Prices for equipment will come down after the company sees better return for their biggest expense. It's unfortunate that so many people affected by the RIF feel the company owes them something. In most cases, the company has been paying far to much and receiving far too little. The recent RIFs and near future RIFs are fixing this problem.
