I'm a lead...my part timers can have the hours. I won't be taking overtime. I can't get time off to save my life, so a cut in hours would actually be a blessing to me. I do feel for the ones who do want the hours. 10 hours here and 4 hours there is ridiculous, and the funny thing is we are still hiring!!!
Maybe I'll shave off 3-5 hours off of my FT40, maybe 10 if possible. It's not a whole lot but I'm sure there's someone else that could use the hours and I could use some R&R and any little morsel of time I can get away from the toxicity of this place, and perhaps have time to look for a better job. At this point, if I could, I'd dock myself down to 29 hours every other week.
Unfortunately, my inconsiderate store manager who is always finding ways to take time off left and right, armed with excuses for not coming in to work will probably shoot any idea of "donating" my hours, even though there is ample MOD coverage at all hours of the day through other leads and ASMs. Our store manager does not really participate in MOD coverage because she is too busy playing on Pebble and Facebook or browsing Amazon/eBay/etc. in her office, or sneaks out to get "coffee" and is still nowhere to be seen an hour later, car gone and all. I get the impression that the district manager will do nothing since they apparently know each other outside of Sears.
Anyway...
So, not only will my crew will lose more hours and more of the workload will roll towards my way. I might as well live at the store. Why not? There's mattresses, a fridge, stove and micro in the breakroom and a place to hose off in the back. Maybe if I get insomnia I could RAD/RAN or something. Haven't had a day off in six days. I have two more days to go.
