The management team ( if this is what you want to call them) is doing nothing now but cutting hours to the point customer service s---s in DIY and Commercial. Customers are tired of waiting in line and holding on the phone for long periods of time. We've lost several large customers at our store do to this but they don't care. They are in trouble and are in the panic mode but cutting your help isn't the answer. This company has too many chiefs s---ing up too much money that have never sold an auto part or even managed a retail store. Hey Jeffrey Smith of Starboard Value how do you like us now?

The time to cut is here, no sales and no profit
IT IS DESPERATION! They are hurting because they have lost a lot of the CARQUEST business and are continuing to lose the CARQUEST employees. My GM told us that anything we go over in scheduled hours will be cut by the end of the week. Forget about service, just don't go over the hours allowed by your DM. Most of the DM's haven't ever run a store or sold an auto part, but they are qualified to tell you how it's done. They are slowly forcing out the former CARQUEST employees which is going to cost them more than they realize. I'm looking everyday for a new job and I'll find it probably pretty soon.
Shame on those of us who actually believed in the "culture change" late last year and early this year.
Yeah, sounds about right. Run the company into the ground and devalue the stock so it is an easy acquisition target.
As if hours were not already bad enough for the stores, and they do not care. I am still wondering if it is desperation or part of an overall plan to devaluate the company so badly that it makes it an attractive purchase for some other "Buddy" waiting to sweep in and grab more shares at bargain basement prices. Time will tell, but be assured Starboard Value will be on top as this is what they do.
