A keyword search on the Oracle careers page for either 'Solaris' or 'SPARC' returns over 75 job postings across the US.
How can they be laying off Solaris and SPARC engineers and at the same time be hiring?

I saw an EVP & Sr Mgr from same group very actively Linking up
with graduate students
I contacted the EVP on one and he said it was just an acquaintance
@OF8YQZH-1yty: Nope, they're not fake. But they will only accept people who have rather low salary expectations, even if the position is senior, or they will require night hours, weekends, etc.
On the other hand, with very deep cuts in some parts of support in Europe, they are desperate to fill in gaping holes that the layoffs have left, but since they have restricted hiring locations (US, Romania, India and China), they're trying to make do with what they can -- hence East Coast.
I was served a Job ad for a East Coast based Solaris Sr. Principal TSE at Oracle by Glassdoor dot com. Fake?
As mismanaged as everything is, most of the postings should be old and just hanging out there.
Maybe fake postings intended to be filled by people from India at a later date?
Go ahead and apply to one of them and see what happens. Whatever you do don't hold your breath. Most of the stuff listed there is old garbage
