Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Historical Year End Bonus percentages.

There's a lot of talk here about getting "zero bonus" this year. Does anyone have a list of say the last 5 years of the year end bonus that was paid out?

People on the San Jose side of Tasman are safe. If you are on the ofher side, the ax may fall at any moment. Too much gossiping and not enough coding, makes Jack a dull boy.

Well, I was told to tighten my belt today :(

It is clear that what we do doesn't count. You have to be in the "inner circle" to receive a piece of the pie. It is all about who you are buddy with.

Between 2014 and 2016 (the 3 years I was at Cisco), bonuses were paid at near 100% (slightly going up to about 108% for 2016). In 2017, the mid year bonus was capped at 50%, and I heard this was done after a long time in response to preparation for declining revenue.

If the revenue decline continues, I would expect the annual bonus not to exceed 50% for the full year in 2017 (which means there would be another payout at 50% in September). They may not pay the bonus at all in 2018.

Recieved earlier mid-year bonus on a Friday, then was LR'd on the following Thursday.

Beware the Ides of March.

Sears recently paid a bonus to management regardless of whether key performance indicators have been met.

Well all managers have been invited to bonus giving training so maybe we'll get one. Maybe they schedule that as a matter of course anyway though. I did hear we finished the quarter strongly.

Yeah, stop saying "no bonus, huge exit for the door". CSCO ELT will have their work done for them. Why buy a cow when you can get the milk for free?

That would be a strong indication of how the situation is BAD , no one with the right skill sets will join this company. All the BS that we keep hearing on the beat-kardashian show will become more kardashian (aka fake).

No bonus, there will be exodus. Yuge! Massive rush to the exit door

Only reason I'm still here.

If that was to happen, the rush to the door would be like nothing seen in a long time.

From what I've been reading, everyone is waiting for their "package" rather than quitting. But, IIRC there were a lot of people who posted they got little-to-no bonus when they got their package, although I can say I still got 100% of my bonus with my package.

But don't let HR read that everyone will just quit if they don't get their bonus! HR / ELT will just decide not to give out the bonus, postpone the Q1 LR for Q2 and see how many people quit and save on paying out bonus AND severance packages.

We need to keep that bonus to fund GSX in Vegas. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
